Syllabus for Preliminary Examination in Integrated Circuits

Updated July 2010*

This examination will cover the broad area of circuit analysis and design with particular emphasis on MOS circuits. The material covered is taught in the analog courses EECS 140 and 240 and the digital material is in EECS 141 and 241. The course books are Gray, Hurst, Lewis and Meyer, Fifth Edition, "Analysis and Design of Analog Integrated Circuits", (not including Chapter 10) and Rabaey, Chandrakasan and Nikolic, Second Edition, "Digital Integrated Circuits", (entire book).

NOTE: The following courses may not be used to fulfill the prelim breadth requirement if you take the IC prelim: EECS 105, 120, 140, 141, 142, 143, 145A, 240, 241, 242, 243, 244, 247 and 290C.
