Engaging Participants in the Ensemble Computing Pathway

Many computer science educators, primarily those in K-12 schools, are isolated from other computing instructors in their workplaces. Others may come from related fields but not be specifically trained to teach computer science. There are currently very few places that these individuals can turn to share their experiences and exchange ideas. Ensemble is an NSF-sponsored project that provides an online space where computer science educators can come together from across the world to share comments, advice, and curriculum ideas. Online communities like Ensemble depend on the participation of its members in order to continue to be relevant and helpful. We’ve been working to develop a virtual reward system that is relevant to the Ensemble community in order to encourage active participation.
