Dear BEARS Attendee,
The International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) cordially
invites you to attend an open house on Thursday, February 10, 2:00-4:00
pm.
ICSI is an independent, non-profit laboratory pursuing
leading edge research in networking, algorithms, bioinformatics, computational
linguistics, and spoken language processing. ICSI offers a collaborative, international
working environment for visiting industrial and academic scientists and
maintains a close affiliation with UC Berkeley's EECS department
. ICSI research has spawned a rich portfolio of intellectual property and technology,
much of which is made available for licensing, new business creation, and commercialization
by sponsoring partners.
Open house participants will have the opportunity to view technology demonstrations,
and to talk informally with ICSI scientists. From 2:30-3:30, a brief overview
of the Institute will be presented, followed by a featured talk on Open Source
Networking: XORP = eXtensible Open Routing Platform. The topic is a timely
one, as Linux penetrates the enterprise and targets the desktop user, and as
new commercial open-source ventures come out of stealth mode. Please join us
to hear more about the "Linux of routing".
ICSI is located just off-campus, at 1947 Center Street, near the Downtown Berkeley
BART station.
