Biography

Jean-Paul (JP) Tennant teaches the EECS 16A/B sequence, EECS/MecEng 106A/206A (Robotics) and a new course entitled Business and Finance for Engineers (EE 194-100). He received a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, an M.S. in EECS from UC Berkeley, and an MBA from BerkeleyHaas. He served in a variety of roles in the US Navy's Submarine Force, traded fixed income securities at Goldman Sachs, was the co-owner, CFO, and CEO of Geographic Expeditions, and co-founder and Chairman of the Board at Peak 15 Systems. His focus is teaching, and his areas of interest include systems, controls, and robotics, as well as quantitative and startup finance.
