Department Notes: EE194/290C IC Design Project: 16nm SoC for IoT Instructors: Bora Nikolic, Ali Niknejad, Kris Pister Units: 4 Pre-reqs: at least one of EE113, 140, 142, 151; (or equiv) In 15 weeks we will design a single-chip wireless sensor node "System on a Chip" with a 32 bit RISC-V processor and memory, 2.4 GHz radio transceiver, machine learning accelerator, energy scavenging interface, power management, on-board sensors, and sensor interfaces. The (extremely challenging) goal is to send the chip out for fabrication in 16 nm CMOS at the end of the semester. One or more teams of students will divide the project into modules and work together to design and integrate the modules into a single chip.
