Biography
He received the S.B. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics and the S.M. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, 1981, 1985, and 1989, respectively.
He was a Design Engineer at the Honeywell Test Instruments Division, Denver, CO. Since 1989, he has been on the faculty of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, UC Berkeley, where he is presently Professor.
Dr. Sanders received the NSF Young Investigator Award in 1993 and Best Paper Awards from the IEEE Power Electronics Society and the IEEE Industry Applications Society. He has served as Chair of the IEEE Technical Committee on Computers in Power Electronics, and as a Member-At-Large of the IEEE PELS Adcom.
